Heart Scotland, Scotland’s feel good radio station, revealed this morning (Wednesday 5th June) that they have officially renamed Loch Tay ‘Loch Tay Tay’ in honour of international superstar Taylor Swift.

Loch Tay, located in Perthshire was renamed by Heart Scotland to celebrate the highly anticipated and sold-out UK leg of The Eras world tour which begins in Edinburgh this Friday.

Over the past week Heart Scotland Breakfast hosts Des Clarke and Jennifer Reoch have been enlisting the help of Heart listeners to find a way to honour Taylor Swift and The Eras Tour.

Loch Tay Highland Lodges got in touch with Heart Scotland and suggested Heart Scotland rename Loch Tay ‘Loch Tay Tay’. At an official renaming ceremony which was broadcast live this morning on Heart Breakfast with Des Clarke and Jennifer Reach, bagpipers played renditions of Taylor Swift songs as a brand new sign ‘Loch Tay Tay’ was unveiled.

Heart Breakfast’s Des and Jennifer said: “We’re giving Taylor the ultimate Scottish welcome by officially renaming the iconic Loch Tay, Loch Tay Tay! With the help of our amazing listeners and the team at Loch Tay we are making one of the world’s most celebrated artists feel right at home here in Perthshire!”

Andrew Howe, Chairman of Largo Leisure said: “What could be more fitting for pop royalty like Taylor Swift than having one of the most impressive lochs in Scotland named after her? We think Loch Tay Tay and our newly named holiday park Loch Tay Tay Highland Lodges is a fitting tribute to such an iconic star and we would welcome any Swifties for a visit to see Loch Tay Tay for themselves. Thank you to the team at Heart Scotland for the new sign which creates a stunning selfie spot!”
