So what exactly is the bothy? You might have heard of the term bothy to describe a mountain cabin that hillwalkers and mountaineers bed down in for the night if they are doing a walk which isn’t possible in one day.
They quite often are cold, have no heating and you’re not guaranteed a bed. Our bothy is the complete opposite!
The bothy is really great for groups of people getting together who don’t mind sleeping in the same room together. It can sleep up to 8 people. There is one bedroom which has four bunk beds and central heating.
The rest of the house has an open plan bunk house feel to it, with the addition a pool table and darts board. Both are a great addition to group get together! The fully fitted kitchen means preparing a meal or putting the kettle on for a cuppa isn’t a problem. There is a private bathroom with a shower, toilet and hand basin.
Hot Hot Hot Tub!
We have a large electric hot tub in the courtyard that is exclusively for residents of the Bothy.
It’s not quite olympic swimming pool sized but it’s very spacious and will accommodate up to 4 people at time.
Fire Pit
There really is something captivating about an outdoor fire. For those who have to wait their turn in the hot tub, they could spend some time at the private fire pit.
It’s somewhere else you can relax with the group and it can provide a cosy warm focal point when the sun goes down. You don’t have to turn into a lumberjack either.
Wood is available to buy from reception.
