Hikes in Scotland are breathtaking and Ben Lawers is no exception. The munro rises 1214 metres above sea level, overlooking Loch Tay in the southern part of the Highlands. It is part of the Grampian Mountains - one of Scotland’s largest mountain ranges.
This munro makes the perfect day out to the visitors of Loch Tay Highland Lodges as the hiking path is only 2.5 miles away from the lodges.
This stunning hike takes between 4-6 hours to complete. The hike up the mountain starts from the car park at 400 metres above sea level. The rocky path calls for hiking boots and a wind breaker is also recommended as the higher you go, the rougher the weather gets. There are multiple spots with a view where you can stop for a scran while taking in the views. Bring everything you need with you as there are no shops or cafes nearby.
On a clear day, admire the loch extending below you or watch the smaller munros nestling beneath your feet. On a cloudy day, experience walking in the misty veil of clouds and feel the refreshing droplets cooling your face.

After celebrating you made it to the top of the mountain, walk down the same way you came up or alternatively take the path around the right side of the mountain for a steadier descent. The spectacular view of the valley accompanies you until the path connects with the steeper one. This path around the munro could also be taken for an easier ascent.
