Does a friend or loved one need support, but you’re not sure how to provide it?
Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. The overall number of people with mental health problems has not changed significantly in recent years, but worries about things like money, jobs and benefits can make it harder for people to cope.
It appears that how people cope with mental health problems is getting worse as the number of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts is increasing.
We believe it is important to help awareness, therefore, it is our intention in the next couple of weeks to add a charity contribution to our booking process across three of the four holiday sites within the Largo Leisure Group. We will then match pound for pound contributions made by our customers and split the proceeds 50/50 between the two charities.
Throughout the year we also sponsor some running and swimming events up at Loch Tay organised by a wonderful company called Tay Fitness who have also kindly agreed to help us in our fundraising efforts.
This short film created by a member of our staff's family depicts the realities of mental health illnesses. Giving hope to sufferers and their loved ones and to also break the stigma and raise awareness.
